A change of scene in Somali politics



In politics, few characteristics which are a shame in normal life are not a handicap.
A good diplomat is said to be the one who lies for the sake of his nation. A good statesman is the one who takes curses and insults on his face for the goodness of his nation, who is hated, abused and spat on his face and he accepted all with bravery so that his country would make a big step forward.

Saddam Hussein went into the history as a man who made wrong political calculations and did not see the interests of his people and nation before his own.
It is a choice between two ultimate alternatives in life when you are the main decision maker on behalf of millions of your people –
· An achievement of personal richness & fame from all people from the third world as a hero who dared stand up to the face of UNCLE SAM and said NO to western manipulation of internal regional political affairs &
· A full collaboration with the world community in terms of the new world order and prevention of terrorism related activities followed by the smooth climb of your country to the ladder of progress

In general the success of a leader of a nation is calculated not from his personal fame and world popularity and the personal fortunes he has made during his presidential period but what long term interests he had earned for the future children of his country and how the country played a prominent role in the political, social and economical activities in the world.

While pursuing the latter option , the good leader must do so while also maintaining the cultural and moral values of the nation.

There are two main questions that we have to ask ourselves before we shove 'our tribal man' to the throne since we are the makers of our own leaders according to the current world civilization and these are:

Are we supporting the right person for the difficult task of ruling Somalia in its worst economical, political and social status? If the answer is big NO, then, should we replace him with another candidate from the same tribal community but with far reaching qualities as a good ruler?
Out of the Somali faction leaders and politicians in Kenya , is there any personality with the capability and influence to perform the heavy task of dragging the nation out of the mud of chaos and poverty.
I will not volunteer to give a negative answer for the above two crucial questions and dream to invite a leader from the sky. However, I would only advise that a CHANGE OF SCENE be considered as the better medicine for the chronic disease we have been suffering. Yes, a change of scene, a change of the whole scene that appears in the political surface of the Somali political arena. It means a change of all the current active and prominent political leaders of each faction or political group that play a role in the current reconciliation conference through this process of a change of scene campaign.

The campaign requires that each old political leader be replaced with an alternative political leader from the same community with the consent of the tribe he belonged.
This would mean all names of ABDIQASSIM , ABDULLAH YUSUF , JAMA ALI JAMA , MUSE SUUDI , OSMAN ATTO , HUSEIN EIDEED ,HASSAN ABSHIR, BARRE HIRALE ,OMAR FINISH , MOHAMMED DHEERE, , MORGAN , QANYARE, SH.ADAN MADOOBE, M.OMAR JEES, SHAATI GADUUD,ISMAIL,QALAAD, ADDOOW, GALAYDH, OMAR H.MASALA, and any name of a personality associated with the current political wrestling in Somalia would be replaced.

This will give the Somali civilian people to forget these names that remind them of guns and loots.
The new names will bring some hope and reduce the tension and fear with many people.
Rumuors will start rolling that the new leaders are the magic touch to the problems in our ailing country. Some might go further to say that these new group never took a hand in all the machination process of the 30 years DESTROY SOMALIA PROJECT - a dark period that every 55 year old Somali took part directly or indirectly.

We also promise to create a propaganda house fabricating all sorts of rumuors to decorate the new and fresh group with honesty and patriotism, hence reducing the mistrust and fear with the fellow Somalis. Fabricating a lie! , aha , yes because don’t forget the definition of a good diplomat in the first paragraph of this article.

The Somali people must never forget that it is quite different between

· A militia leader whose main responsibility was to defend the community from other militias, fight for the power share of the community in the Somali power sharing process & manage the unorganized militias in the control of their part in Somalia
&
· A national leader who has to do the vital job of keeping the peace & security of a big nation, helping find source of living for ten million population , doing well in the regional competition for progress and prosperity , making sure that every child gets the necessary education he deserved as a citizen , changing the name of Somalia from a synonymous to civil war, killing , hunger , famine , refugee, forgery etc to one which is synonymous to brightness , civilized, shining peace , hi tech progress, center of peace , sports , education center and finally return the lost name of the land of perfumes and incenses.

A DAY WITH A DARING DAD

.......Fabulous guide for all Somalis Intellectuals.......

It is obviously selfishness if one considers his personal incidence a general issue for all or his loved ones a choice for all.The following story of my own Dad would follow suit, had it not been that the narrations in the story and meaning behind it is a good example for the goodness of all readers who always like to imitate the good.....In all my life time , I was under impression that I could face any personal sad news with bravery as a fate from God and not show any tears of dis- morality but i was proven wrong when recently the news of the sudden and unexpected death of my father hit me hard .For all the data of his life that I have and the many dealings We had together , I only chose one special day to share with my readers . A day that became very remarkable in my life .... A day that the late Sh.Ahmed Osman gave me a gift that is specially very precious to me and any Somali citizen who is anxiously wondering when will the chronic political chaos in our country come to an end.In a long conversation during our first get together after so many long years that was the result of the civil war , I and my Dad covered many discussions that dealt with the past , present and most predictable situations of Somalia.When he saw that I was worried that I could not realise my dream to enjoy a good generation in a progressive life in Somalia , he smiled and reminded me that it was fate that decides the quality of all generations.The generation of my father's , he said, was different from our generation which is very much different from your today's generation.Every generation has its own political and social characteristics that needs a different approach. There was a time when being in politics was an indication of crookedness and only few people proudly spoke foreign languages. As Time is very short and We might not meet again in life , I want to give you few guidelines in life so that you can face any challenges in this world:

Infinite vision : Don't limit your vision within narrow circular ranges based on nationality , language or ethnicity . Think big and internationally. Don't let your status of being discourage you from being a pioneer . You might come up with a political solution to the anarchic situation in Somalia while the more powerful and people in the field might not see it through the right angles as you did.
Independent Stand: Don't accept a mistake or a deviant attitude as the normal way just because all others or the majority or people around you accustomed to it .
Reject the wrong,the bad and initiate to show that a wrong is wrong even if it is with shining colours. If tribalism becomes a norm of the social life in Somalia , Don't use it because all others became tribalists .
Take an independent stand .
Imitate the better : It is said that the Japanese reached its technological progress through Mind copying which in layman.s terms means Imitating others. We strongly are over nationalised and are repellent of the systems of foreign cultures. we have to learn to take the most useful from other cultures and reject the bad.
Accept the decision of the REALITY: It is predicted that many dictators would have saved their skins, avoid the tragedy that havoc ed them ,if they accepted the reality that every dog has its own day .
Accept the indication of the Reality as your guiding principle in politics and social life because neglecting it has severely harmful consequences.
Control Emotions to discipline : Never let your personal emotions mould your behaviour into being . Instead control your self to adjust to discipline .
Interpret knowledge to action: The benefit of Knowledge is purely a relative commodity . it absolutely can not be independent of a second person. If a Man made a research n a certain formula for thirty years and finally dies inside the laboratory. If it is found that the man left no records , data results or any track of his research , it simply means that the man was no different from One who played foot ball for thirty years to pass the time. whatever mundane knowledge you might be gaining through studies , research or life experiences , try to interpret it to a way that it could be utilised in the life or pass it to others who could do so.
Learn from History: Let history be your reference when ever you have to make hard decisions in life. One of the greatest assets that helped The Great Britain to become the Kingdom that its flag always flew in every continent was the knowledge the Britons had for the history and culture of all the peoples in the world. History loves to repeat itself and a wise man can learn from it to face the challenges of the future.
Strong Faith : Most people take religion for granted and while they do so confuse to differentiate between the culturally developed habits and the sacred commandments. Feel the existence of God with in and around you in every second of the time and where ever you are .
Balancing position: Take medium position of all situations and avoid extreme lines in mundane affairs .
Be yourself : Avoid to put yourself into the shoes of other personalities. Be yourself in deciding affairs, exchanging relations and while playing a role in social affairs.My father reminded me again that Life was very short and it might be our last meeting. With in a short time , He died.

With his 10 point advise package , I feel that change is always possible not only in Somalia, or Africa or the third world but also in the whole world where the need for a change is highly visible and that too with an initiative from simple people like you and me.
God bless my father's soul. ..Amen.

The politics of M&K and On top of Hamarweyne

Let me start with the preface that the main aim of this sensitive article is to pinpoint the past mistakes of all of us- Somali communities and regimes- committed and we should learn from mistakes. We will never forget the mistakes but we forgive so that the same mistakes will not be repeated.Revenge is also worse than the mistake because it multiplies the magnitude of the mistake.Forgiving while pinpointing the mistake is the best solution to prevent a repetition of a mistake. In every country , there are several communities that differ from each other in certain ways of life – let it be the dialects of the language , the physical gestures , attitudes , characters and ways of thinking that gave each community its special identity.What makes a nation stable and progressive is the unanimous generalization of the freedom to practice these identities by its community and the respect for each community to the other.Part of the problems in our country came from lack of every community to recognize and respect for other communities’ identities and the wish to dominate them in many ways. It is a social disaster when the president utilizes his political powers to subjugate the identities of certain community and propagate those of others and to the worst of it if he makes it a national duty.Words are formed naturally out of certain cultures and interactions and if they have to be fabricated, it should not serve short term objectives only.The word “ HANTIGOOSAD” which means capitalismhas a negative impression on every Somali speaking at the mere spell of it because its creators were at the time solid followers of the socialist ideology and were in high esteem for it.It also compelled them to give a decorated name “HANTIWADAAG” to its adversary rival “The Socialism”; If the Somali government was a strong ally of the WEST and the capitalist ideology was adopted in the country, we would end up having a beautiful name for the capitalism and an ugly one for the socialism.While the phrases like “ MALAAYAAN CUNOOYAA “ and “ KALLUUN BAAN CUNAHAYAA” both have same meaning unfortunately those who speak the latter phrase were considered as better Somali speaking citizens.Does it harm if the teacher of an elementary school in Mogadishu uses the word “MALAAY’ while the one in the northern part of the county keeps the word “KALLUUN” and pupils of both sides would enjoy the language. In India there are fifteen principal languages and different dialects and each region uses its regional language in school teaching, newspapers, radio broadcasts while the Hindi language is the main official language. In Italy and other European countries , there are various dialects and languages with in each nation.I would consider it a progressive step if the communities of D&M were allowed to teach MAAY MAAY dialects in schools , have regional MAAY language radio broadcast and create arts and music of MAAY MAAY origin while the Somali official language which was not purely based on any regional dialect would be their official language.The new government should respect each and every small and big community in Somalia and allow them to practice their identities freely and fully in their regions..The word “JAALLE” was never heard in the southern part of the country before the 1969 revolution that came along with new prevailing words.We have had enough lessons from the 15 years of difficult times and what lessons we learn should not only be the great losses of life without government but also the urgent need to recognize the special identities of every community that are the pillars of our nation. Should we have to expect the words like AREE , BOOWE , ARIIROW to be equally filling the Somali national newspapers and radios when the communities that use these words respectively become the ruling giants.If we call it MALAAY , KALAAY OR TALAAY , the importance is that people recognize it for something called FISHbut unfortunately very precious words that were originally fluently used in the BENADIR region have vanished because they were made into a shameful whispers instead of proud language that emanated from ancient history and culture. I wonder if any reader from the northern regions of Somaliaever heard of the following words :FUUQ, FASHAQ, KURTA , SHARUUR , MOXOGGO, DHANGALOW , CAANABARAAWE, BEYDAAN, SHALIMAANTALAHAAN,BARJIN, and I would also like to know if some of the southerners themselves ever heard of the following: ALKUN , GAFAR , MANJEERO , URUG, MAAYADA WAA MAAJISAY, BAFTO, UKUR , DHAARAAN,Let Qawdhan proudly keep in his lips words like “ HEEDHE” while Macaani will always happily use “ SAAS MAAHINOO” with his own people and when Macaani and Qawdhan meet occasionally , we let them find a neutral way of communication , each learning what the other means and the official language of the country will have the full features of this neutral way.Every community in Somalia has traditions and dialects special to its identity and we have to admit to be learning from each tradition and letting each to promote its values and by that way we let the democratic principles in our social lives prevail and lead us into a progressive society.I personally feel at ease whenever I utter the phrases like “ SAAS MAAHINOO “ instead of “ MIYAANU CEYNKAA AHEYN” Which my body , brain and mouth all consume a potential energy equal to ten liters of petrol .Awes

Awes Perspectives : Views From Dubai

I stood over one of the high rocks of Hamarweyne Sea Coast on a nice dawn time and let the fresh air go around my neck/ it was after so many years that I was standing near Sheikh Owais Al-Qarni mosque for fresh air.

One characteristic of such cool and clean breeze was that it always gets my grey matter functioning well by giving full energy, tranquility and beautiful climate.

This time it prompted me to brood over how things were developing with my fellow brothers & sisters in what used to be the white Mans world.

It occurred to me to exactly differentiate between what people should stick to as hard as glue and what should be flexible & changed like an old dirty clothes and replaced with new & modern ones.

The analysis took me to compare the lives in a small house of Ambarey & Awomar at Mogadishu suburbs and that of Cynthia & James in Washington D.C.

Since the first day of the creation of the earth , life had been changing from stone age to digital age , however , as the line of progress went up and moved faster in the western world, it made curves and by products that became lethal to any society .

The ways of our life that should remain intact and that should not be deviated from are the holy commandments & its forbids of our religion.

The ways of our life that could be developed and imitated with any society that proved to be civilized are the ways the developed nations educate themselves, pursue science & technology and health advancements.

Special tastes of culture and arts which are specific to regional and ethical origins of our country should be proud ways that we decide its direction as per the circumstances.

The fact that we are the only people on earth that eat banana pieces with a handful of delicious rice and much it joyfully should be a proud food habit that we call a Somali specialty but if we replace the old style of a big plate of cooked riced and huge mutton pieces with variety of dishes containing nutritious food cooked with the advise of a professional cook guide book is not a bad idea.

It is painful that a highly educated Somali intellectuals in Europe & USA get lost to screen the package of shining colour lifestyle in the civilized society and take only the best part of all.

While the home of James enjoys modernized civilization and the shines of richness & hygiene , there are some core advantages the home of Awomar always counts on over that in Washington close family & relatives attachment, pure love , peace of mind , faith in gods power to give * take are all advantages that James could never find in any social industry around him.

Hollywood and other main media companies which are the social industries in America that direct the production of Americas future young generation simply avoid to include within their campaign programs that produce societies that are not hundred percent material oriented.

I stepped down from the rock to a lower one to have a clearer view of the sea waves of ABOHUSSEINKA beach * a sprinkle of the salt water of the wave after it fell on the rocks moved back on my face. I enjoyed it and it again got me thinking.

It reminded me that this future American generation include thousands of Somali children who would make a part of the new generation of Somali population that we expect in the future.

Defining Freedom in a Somali Style

The Difference between a sinner in our country and the one in the west is that the former has a deep regret even while sinning while the latter enjoys the sins.

If social problem arises among a community , the road to a better soution is a solid research on the causes of the problem , analysing the factors that contribute to the problem and prescribing a package of treatments.on a tour of five European capitals , I encountered several Somali individuals that wore lifestyles that are totally deviant according to the Somali Islamic cultural values but normal or may be civilized according to western so called advanced culture. A cigarette in between her fingers and a stylish cup of vodka in another hand , an educated Somali lady told me that she found her previous life style a backward , another married woman lived with a non somali in a compound while her legal husband is waiting for her in Somalia , kids are used to finding in the refrigerators in their kitchen bitter tasting drinks that were a shame among even the adults in our communities, mothers who dont find problem when her teenage daughters live with their boy friends, teenage girls wear half naked revealing clothes,put ring clips on the nose , lips and eye gowns and other more deviant characteristics that gave me a heart attack were some of my encounters .Most of these behaviours were and are still a shame in the somali cultural values . On trying to contribute a solution to above and other social problems that plagued the somali communities in Europe and USA, I first considered these problems as phenomena that fall in line with the cases life that has cause & effect features. There are two main approaches , international and national , in my package of defining and pinpointing the roots of the problem first . Both approaches have a common denominator that is FREEDOM as the catalyst and big motivator of all social deviations.

Internationally, there is strong and combined effort by all countries to fight against old cultural values and traditions that emanate from a religion. what is considered as tradition , however has become an unavoidable necessity that should not be gotten rid of.it is wrongly believed that God.s creation and set up of the universe should be challenged as it is mostly considered as natural happening that has occurred accidently. It is believed that if the set up is dismantled , civilisations would erupt from it , infact the belief arose from the fact that Man.s search for better living led to some positive discoveries and progress that took human being to higher stage of being a better creature. But not all attempts do lead successful results .
IT is always trivial to remember that there are areas that should be left intact otherwise it would lead to a total destruction.Religion and its role in man.s life was always wrongly considered as interferring thorns that should be removed and the result is a clash between those who want to see God's words are the upper and final factor in every day life and those want to keep God only in the churches , mosques and temples.I was encouraged with my dream to reform not only the third world societies but also the developed societies in the West when I learnt that some parts in that region , specially in the Scandinivian countries , people started to feel that the current day western lifestyle is not even according to good christianity as preached by prophet Issa (Pbuh).
The tendency to fail the godmen took the west to choose to live a lifestyle that is morally not different from the other creatures in the world, how ever few good men from the West exist but these men could not prevent the continuous rupture of all spiritual and moral values of the West and the characteristics of the young men and women from the West that start at the age of 12 below puberty.Thanks to the civil war in our country , the somali children born and brought up in the west are no exception.Nationally speaking , the somali individual in the West is faced with the tragedy of being in equiliprium state between two cultures that are far different and apart from each other .he was thrown from the somali culture based on a package of Islamic teaching , rural traditional values, urban slow step movement towards civilization but with some impurities & into a western culture that has more impurities and glitters than benefits . The Two have more differences than similarities.An old and wise man walks on the string balancing his weight between the two sides - sucking the vitamins of the good prospects of the western life and dumping the waste in the dustpin - but an imature teenager is in for a big fall.The fact is that there are many advantages that the somali new comer in the West can draw but the problem is that there is always the dangerous task of picking the gold from the sand.Most deviant somal ladies in the west lodge their justification that they lacked the mere freedom entitled to any human being while they lived in Somalia but íf that is true , the struggle of the somalli iron lady should be to get that freedom through reform and education and not breaking glasses so that people will hear the sound. The glasses of the heart and spirit as somali moslem lady has got great values that can not be compensated.Freedom , in essence , has limits . without this limitation , it will lose its brand name and quality . The somali expatriate in the west must realize that He or She should not change his life stlye just because there is the freedom to do so but there should be the valid cause to adopt new culture if it is from negative to positive, from bad to good or from dirty to hygienic.The New Somalia group will undertake the heavy task of social reform among the somali communities in the west through debates, sharing of ideologies , brainwashing the somali new comers etc and we humbly need the ideas , cooperation and advise of the somali intellectuals in the world. We feel that what is at stake is not only the security and peace in Somalia but also the cultural calues, religion , rationality,way of thinking and the pride of being a Somali .

Does Ethiopia have anything to do with Somalia?

(The New Somalia Group has a political point)

Some readers might anticipate my point from the title of the article . They might prove to be wrong. They may consider this article as a mere cry of a concerned person from the intervention of foreigners in the Somali political crisis or an article meant to justify the actions of the interfering powers in the Somali political struggle. They are also in for a big surprise.
I would beg that this be rather considered as a political advise package to the new Somali government , particularly the new president and also to the Ethiopian government. First of all , Ethiopia has to have important things to do with Somalia. It goes like a simple arithmetic equation that any country that has historical feud ,border conflict, earlier wars with a neighbouring country has to be fully concerned with the political developments of that country. It is a negative political ideology that stood as a holy strategy for centuries.
India and Pakistan are a sample of the many neighbouring countries that have inherited traditional enmity , religious conflicts and territorial border fighting from the colonial powers in the region.
Both fought painful wars and since then raced hard for military supremacy in the region. If any one of the two countries slides into an anarchy status , the other will automatically take advantage of the situation and prevent any efforts to return the country to its former strong nation status. Similarly Ethiopia can not turn a blind eye on the political situation in Somalia whether we like it or not .
Yes Ethiopia has and will continue to have a lot of things to do with Somalia. The only problem is that it does not realise that as time changed tremendously , what it must have to with Somalia should also change tremendously.Europe has made a big leap towards progress only when its member countries concluded sacred no war pacts with each other and agreed to drive together towards progress .They realised that communities in the region are interlinked which meant that a light from one source in the region illuminates all and a disease from one area would infect all people in the region.
The European union hence contributes to support any one nation in the community that lacks behind . The Horn of African community should follow the footsteps of the EU and change the century old negative political heritage.
Following facts supports Ethiopia's real benefit from peace and progress in Somalia:• The Only method that the members of the HORN countries can hatch out of the doom of famine, wars and other human disasters is a combined regional campaign against poverty. This will require regional cooperation in fighting terrorism, stopping cross border arms smuggling , exchanging information . • Law and order in each country of the HORN gives easier communication and cooperation between governments in the region than between governments and militia controlled regional authorities in different parts of the region. • Both Ethiopia and Somalia should aim beyond territorial claims and find a common interest in the prosperity of the region as a whole. This requires letting the citizens in the disputed lands area in the Somali-Ethiopian border decide their own way of life and policy and have greater autonomous rule. • To change the attitude of the public in both Somalia and Ethiopia towards each other in terms of humanity, cooperation, neighbourhood, peaceful coexistence,trade & business exchange, crime control etc depends on the governments in both countries.
The public is what the government makes of it. • It is only about time that the balance of positions alternate. if the fall of control occurs in one country today , it might take place in the other tomorrow therefore it is better not to manipulate the situation and take advantage of it. Ethiopia should also remember that Somalia has got more cards in its hands that it can play with when the right time comes than Ethiopia now has got . It is for the interest of Ethiopia to help grow a Somali society that has good heart feelings for its neighbours than the previous hostile relationship based on traditional enmity.
The New Somali President has to be a different president; Different from all other presidents in the world and also from all previous presidents in the Somali history because he has to deal with a different Somalia,that has around ten million population (9,639,151) , of which nine million love politics. He has to balance the opposing weights of internal and external political reactions i.e the necessity to gain full public acceptance in order to run the country and the advantage of having friendly neighbouring alliance in order not to worry about indoor dangers and concentrate much on local matters.
The danger alert here is that once the president's external political interests become a handicap to his internal political interest which is crucial for his existence as president , it is a sign of real problem.
The best advise I have for our new president is that of the two above political issues , the internal concern is the most essential for his political interests and for the national interests too.
The job of the president at a time when Somalia is in this status of political chaos is critical . He has to change the public perception about his profile, his policy and over all power sharing policy in the country. The Sudis and Atos of today in Somalia have every right to oppose his administration , suspect his personal ambitions behind the political curtain and also democratically say NO in any voting occasion as the president too has right to demonstrate his political plans , convince his opponents of his honesty and reject any offensives and unjustified NO.
We have too many people who are ready to attempt a solution by triggering a bullet but what we need, Mr.President, is one who will bring about solution without blood, either by magic or through his unique personal capabilities.

Choosing the right president


(Psychological question or tribal obsession for the Somali citizen)

Most sociologists agree that it takes a long time excessive educational campaign to produce a society fit to elect a president that is good for the nation or few firing shots or imprisonment of civilian people to get the public accept a good dictator who would really build the nation with power.
Neither case is today possible in Somalia for a quick solution to the question of who can rule Somalia in this status of chaos and tribal lunacy.
At the back of every Somali citizen’s head, there is the mentality that the only savior president in the tribal confrontation in Somalia is the tribal relative politician, how ever unqualified he might be.
For the Somali citizen, a bad president from his tribe is better than a good patriotic & deserving one from a rival tribe and we don’t blame them for the situation is not governing an advanced society that see things through better angles but a society whose majority have a vision that does not go beyond fighting over oil wells , grazing lands and tribal superiority .
The qualities that make every Somali leader a deserving candidate for the presidency in view of his community is the oratory experience to at least learn by heart few Somali proverbs and mention them in the political campaigns , his deep knowledge about all tribes in Somalia and their cultural history and how confident he shows to defend his community.
All these merits does not conform to the requirements of a president that can take Somalia out of the economic , social and political chaos it was entrapped.
I propose that the candidates for the Somali presidency should be checked for their capability to handle certain crucial responsibilities .
I suggest that in a big hall in Mbagathi ,Kenya there should be podiums for each Somali candidate for the presidency while all the Somali supporters , IGAD team , Foreign ambassadors in Kenya , the UN representatives , international community and organizations are all present to watch on how the candidates prove their capability that they are the right doctors for the severely sick Somali patients. Each candidate should be given sufficient time to explain the following points in details :

1 what plans do you have to disarm the Somali militias in the streets ?
2 what economic plans to do you think is fit for Somalia for the next 10 years?
3 how best do you think we can avoid a repetition of similar political turmoil in the country after only a decade?
4 what relationship do you suggest Somalia should have with its neighbors in order to stop the arms flow to the country?
5 what plans do you have to create love and harmony among the different tribes in the society that fought terrible and need to forget the past scars?
6 what economic and political systems do you suggest would create jobs for the Somali youths?
7 what measures do you think would avoid corruption and nepotism in the public sector and government functioning ?
8 What political system would be suitable for the nation?
9 how would you generate revenues for the country that is in its worst financial problems?
10 how could you get the financial and political support of the international community for your government?

I am sure the quality of answers and their convincing power during the debate would tell what type of president we are going to end up with.
Choosing the right president today is a factor that decides the quality of political life we will have for many long years to come. It is best advisable to think from every possible angle. we waited for 14 years in fear and tiring expectation to just reach a stage to sit down and talk and we should not take only 14 hours to name the right man for the most difficult and dangerous post of the president of Somalia . We pray for a courageous, justice oriented & capable statesman as the president of Somalia- Amen.
